CherUb on the tree

S now trickles onto the ground below, covering all it can in a brilliant shimmering white, that’s almost blinding. It paints over the land in a way that makes everything so picturesque, that it almost seems like someone hand placed every flake of it on the ground trying to create the perfect winter imagery. It’s chilly, but not cold. The weather, like the snow, like everything on Earth C, is just perfect. It’s like existing inside a painting hung in the house of an especially jolly couple.
    Roxy and Calliope are walking side by side down the streets of the Carapace Kingdom, both dressed up in their nicest winter gear, just enjoying the atmosphere that surrounds them. The snow softly crinkling beneath their feet, the lights decorated on the nearby houses, the cool breeze running through them.

    ROXY: isn't this nice callie just 2 bomb ass peeps shoppin up a storm on a nice winter evenin
    CALLIOPE: yes. it is qUite lovely.

Calliope gives a warm smile to Roxy, but while looking at her, they remember the number of shopping bags she’s been carrying this whole time. Roxy notices them looking, and instantly knows what they're thinking.

    ROXY: dont worry ur pretty head callie this is nothin
    CALLIOPE: alright then.

Roxy reaches up and gives Calliope a gentle pat on their head, which seems to do the job of stopping their worry. They both continue on their path, not paying any mind to the passing Carapacians staring at the two rulers. Roxy moves closer to Calliope, so much they are now rubbing shoulders, not that Calliope minds.

    ROXY: yk if the others were here they would be tellin me i should have just voided w/e i wanted out of thin air
    ROXY: that would have been hells of lame tho
    ROXY: those guys know nothin abt the fun of a good shoppin spree
    ROXY: i could have just voided us rite back home afterwards too
    ROXY: but if i did that we wouldn't have had this lovely walk rite callie?
    CALLIOPE: for sUre, this has been qUite fUn! ^u^

Before the two of them know it they arrive at their destination, a little sad that the walk is over, but happy to be back home. Above them stands a tall gothic tower, so tall it cuts through the clouds. Completely impossible to miss from anywhere you are, a landmark all can rely on to know where they are.
    Roxy looks to the bags in her arms and in an instant they poof out of existence and reappear somewhere inside their home. She then reaches over and lifts Calliope up into her arms, bridal style. Calliope lets out a small gasp at that before settling in, as Roxy pushes herself off the snow and into the air. They both fly into one of the tower’s entrances.
    Inside Roxy gently lowers to the ground before letting Calliope down. They’re both now in a nicely put together living room. Calliope calmly wanders over to the bags on the floor and starts pulling out various decorations.

    ROXY: don’t go too crazy callie
    ROXY: save some decorating for me

Roxy gives a sly smile as she speaks, knowing how much Calliope loves this kind of thing.

    CALLIOPE: oh, don’t worry i’ll let yoU place the topper.
    ROXY: hell yes callie

Roxy gives Calliope a light shake of the shoulder before wandering off towards the kitchen, leaving Calliope to start working on decorations.

    CALLIOPE: yoU know, yoU don't have to bake.
    CALLIOPE: yoU coUld always get jane to come over.
    ROXY: callie come on yk janey is way too busy these days
    ROXY: and…
    ROXY: i wanna give it a honest try yk?
    CALLIOPE: okay roxy, have fUn then!
    ROXY: yk it
    ROXY: wonk ;3

With a wink Roxy turns back to the kitchen. She voids a cute festive apron onto herself along with various baking equipment around the kitchen. She cracks her knuckles, readying herself for the baking ahead.

C alliope finishes up folding a cute drawing of a cherub they made into a hand crafted tree topper. Right on time a beep emanates throughout the house, startling Calliope briefly.

    ROXY: hell yea r cookies done

Calliope hears Roxy slide the tray out of the oven, before the patter of her footsteps can be heard approaching.

    ROXY: want to try 1 with me callie?
    CALLIOPE: sUre thing

Calliope grabs a cookie off the tray Roxy was holding out stretched to them. Roxy too grabs a cookie of her own as they both go in for a bite at the same time. For a moment everything is still, before Roxy spits out the cookie onto the floor.

    CALLIOPE: i don’t know if it’s that bad.
    ROXY: callie dear i love u but don’t lie to me
    ROXY: those cookies were crap
    CALLIOPE: yeah. yoU’re right.

They both then look at each other and Roxy starts to let out a laugh. Calliope follows with a small giggle.

    ROXY: what the heck was i thinking callie i never baked in my life lmao
    CALLIOPE: yoU did yoUr best thoUgh
    ROXY: aw callie ur too sweet
    ROXY: who needs these bum ass cookies when i can just eat you up instead
    ROXY: wonk ;)

Roxy leans down and gives a little kiss on Calliope’s shoulder causing them to straighten up. When Roxy leans back up she takes a moment to really look at the living room. The whole place is completely dressed up head to toe for the holidays, like something out of one of those cheesy Christmas rom-coms.

    ROXY: while i was committing crimes against baking u seem to have been on a roll!
    ROXY: i mean damn u went all out
    ROXY: look at this place!
    ROXY: not that im surprised you always go above and beyond
    CALLIOPE: i think i went oUt exactly as mUch as needed.
    ROXY: don’t down play to me callie
    ROXY: u know i love how into stuff u get

Roxy finally notices the cherub topper in Calliope’s hand when she looks down to smile at them.

    ROXY: is that what i think it is?
    CALLIOPE: yes, and i think it’s time yoU pUt it up!
    ROXY: hell yea!

Calliope hands the topper over to Roxy who enthusiastically rushes over to place it on top of the tree.

    ROXY: now everything is prefect
    ROXY: cmon callie lets sit down and enjoy our handy work

Roxy takes a seat on the couch and Calliope gracefully joins next. The eyeing around the scene in front of them, pleased.

    ROXY: im so glad i got u callie b/c im sure none of those nerds would help me do stuff like this
    ROXY: they’ll all like too cool or busy for the holidays
    ROXY: but we callie are actually way cooler then them
    CALLIOPE: yes i love seeing oUr hoUse all sprUced up for the season.
    CALLIOPE: It's so lively!
    ROXY: truer words have never been said

Roxy leans down and plants a kiss on the top of Calliope’s head, much to their surprise.

    ROXY: thx for everything callie
