Behind Isshiki's back, Amado constructed many cyborgs to use them against him. While re-constructing Eida's eyes to make her be able to enchant anyone who's not blood related, he did the opposite thing to Ouga, to Eida not being able to captivate her.
The failed experiments almost led to Eida's and Ouga's death. Isshiki ordered Boro to kill Eida, not knowing about her ability, she was put in a capsule and Ouga was almost killed by Isshiki himself, but, fortunately (or maybe actually unfortunately?) to the Inner, he failed his attempt.
After being freed by Code, the first thing that Eida saw wasn't Isshiki's death. She used her Senrigan to look how Ouga was doing and what she saw broke her heart.
Before it all happened, Eida felt already some kind of connection between her and Ouga, so her reaction to this image was understandable.
While Eida was suffering from not being able to form a romantic relationship because of that damned ability of enchanting anyone, Ouga was left without any life goal and even will to live.
“Tell me, Eida, what interesting happened in last days?”
“Let's see… Ootsutsuki Isshiki dying?”
Code was left without any words to describe his surprise by the fact of Eida actually being able to see the past and current events.
After a moment in silence, Code asked:
“Eida, could you help me to find someone?”
“Just if you'll agree to help me, too”
Eida was obviously avoiding Code's gaze. She didn't want another guy to be obsessed with her. Especially if this person was the redhead. It would be a real pain.
“What's the favor, Eida?”
“I want the same thing you want, but it's not the person you're probably thinking about”
“Okay, okay… favor for favor”
“That's great you understand
As none of them was in rush, they sat down in a bar for a simple conversation, even if none of them was actually a talkative type of person.
“So, Code. Which person you have on mind?”
“…it's Kawaki”
“You're both enemies, aren't you?”
“I'm in love with him, actually”
“With my Senrigan I can see how bad you were treating him all the time”
“I was just… listening to orders. And hiding my real feelings towards him”
“Do you think he'll want to even listen to you?”
“It won't hurt to try. Maybe-”
Eida activated her Senrigan, just to take a look what was happening with Kawaki at the moment she was talking to Code. The blue haired girl didn't let him to finish his sentence:
“Wait, Code”
“What's that?”
“Seems like Kawaki ran away from the Uzumaki's residence”
“Could you-”
“Yes, but just after you take me to our original dimension. I asked you for this favor just because I can't open rifts”
“Oh, okay”
“Actually, after we'll be there, I can go find the certain person on my own”
“That's great, it means I won't face the situation of missing Kawaki in the middle of the way”
Without wasting more of the precious time, Code and Eida left the hideout. It was obviously taking some time until they finally were close to Kawaki.
“I'm going to leave you here, Code. Kawaki is heading exactly in this direction and it doesn't seem like he'll change it”
“Thanks, Eida. I won't forget you helping me find my future husband”, chuckled Code.
“Well, I hope everything will go well for you. Bye”
Eida was obviously hiding her sadness with the fact of her not being able to have an ordinary romance.
“Bye, Eida”
She even didn't look in Code's direction, just went to see Ouga.
“Eida! You're alive!”
“Fortunately I am”
“I'm… so happy of seeing you”
“Ouga… I won't let anyone to hurt you anymore”
Eida pulled Ouga in a warm embrace, gently stroking her long, brown hair.
“Eida…?”
“I know everything that happened to you, Ouga…”
Ouga ran her fingers through Eida's hair. It was very nice in touch… the loops in the ends of it were making her appearance more unique, but… how was she brushing it?
“And you aren't aware of one thing about me”
“What is this thing?”
“I always wanted to be closer to you, but the whole thing Amado was plotting…”
“Let me tell you something. You're the one I want to have romance with”
It made Ouga speechless. She thought Eida was just making it all for fun… but in the other hand… why would she even do this if her possibility of having an ordinary romance was so difficult?
Eida, not wanting to waste more time, “gave” Ouga her “proof” of being interested in her.
Before Ouga said anything, Eida just kissed her on lips, gently stroking her cheek, and then again hair. It wasn't a kiss that could be easily forgotten. It wasn't too long, nor too short. And obviously it didn't feel like it was forced.
“Oh… thank you for giving me your proof before I asked for it”
“Was it wrong?”
“No, I liked it”
Eida didn't know she helped Ouga to find her own reason to live, but she knew the things they faced while being part of Kara made them closer than they would ever be. Well, they even didn't know each other before they became part of the organization.
They finally sat down on a couch and Ouga rested her head on Eida's shoulder, closing her tired eyes.
Eida didn't seem to be bothered by it.
“Are you comfortable like this?”, she asked with a gentle tone in voice.
“I'd prefer to just be lying with you”
“It was just to say
Eida lay down the couch and pulled Ouga to her, but doing it very gently to not cause any harm to her. It would be horrible if something went wrong. There was still a black receiver stuck in her head… was there any safe way to remove it without causing any damage? Eida had no knowledge about medicine, and the same counted for Ouga.
“Hey, Ouga… I don't want to ruin the atmosphere, but…”
“Tell me what you want to say”
“Have you ever thought about removing this thing from your head?”
“Yeah, but I don't know if it's possible… or even safe”
“Maybe that motherfucker could help you?”
“You mean Amado?”
“Yeah… if he hurt us, then he should do something for us”
“That's an idea, but how will we find him?”
“Don't forget about my Senrigan”
“Sen-what?”
“This ability helped me to find you, silly”
“I was actually wondering how you did it… okay, everything is clear for me”
“So, going back to him. If he was able to turn us into… uh… you know, then he should know how to remove it”
“Do you trust him?”
“Not at all, but it would be better to try. But only if you're comfortable with it”
“You're right. I want to be able to sleep like a normal human without any fear of to die accidentally…”
“I'll take care of you after the surgery. In the case if it's possible… I believe it is”
Eida forbade Amado from talking anything about helping them. It was obvious he would be in danger. Eida and Ouga weren't as weak as they looked like.
“What a pain”, said Amado, after he put Ouga in sleep.
The scientist was feeling sick when he understood his mistakes. He was literally playing a God by doing it all. And he even didn't care about the feelings of the people he used in the experiments. It wasn't something that could be forgiven.
Removing the rod from Ouga's head was easy. The worst began when he had to reconstruct damaged parts. Amado had to spent many hours by doing everything almost from zero.
He couldn't let himself to commit any error. Eida told him that if anything happened to Ouga, he was going to be dead.
Nobody was allowed to enter the room until the surgery was done. And after it was finished, he called Eida to take Ouga back. She was instructed about important things. It was easy to notice Amado's being nervous about possibly doing something wrong…
However, for everyone's luck, there was no need to them visit Amado for the second time. They didn't want to see this guy again.
Eida and Ouga were finally happy.
