Work Text:
The cold steel walls of the desolate facility are stained with rust and blood. Paint strokes of sick experiments making their marks across a canvas, Rinne feels a slight sense of unease at the sight. Despite even knowing that she can fight the sisters on her own. She's a skilled alchemist and with this new power and the ability to transform into Majade, she can reach even greater heights than ever before.
But that doesn't change the fact these sisters use alchemy that is strictly forbidden. Powers from a world completely foreign to Rinne, and for damn good reason.
To partake in such a craft is dancing alongside death with each transmutation that is made. Death waiting for something to go awry, and snatch you away into its depths. Never to return. Perhaps when you're a being created from clay and blood, brought into the world by a man whose desires were twisted beyond repair—such a thing never would be a concern to you in the first place.
Rinne believes in her strength, and with now having created her own rules to go about life she could see this through. That she will be victorious. But there still is a twinge of anxiety lurking around in the depths of her mind all the same. The sisters must never know this.
Down the hall she hears muffled noises of what seems to be chemical reactions happening in the distance. Tightening her fist, she knows she's close.
Rushing in for battle, Rinne is ready to fight.
She bursts in, kicking down the old rusty door. Rinne is prepared to have to fight the three of them but instead she's shocked to see that it's just Lachesis all by herself. Chemical strips in hand, she's in front of a beaker full of some sort of black liquid.
Lachesis isn't even upset by the intrusion. She calmly turns to Rinne with a smirk. "Well that experiment was a bust anyways. I needed something new to occupy my time."
On her guard, Rinne glances around the room. Her gaze was focused and unwavering. Ready for an ambush to happen at any moment. “Where's Atropos and Clotho?”
“Oh? Am I not good enough for you?” She cackles while walking towards Rinne. With each step, Rinne becomes backed up against the wall of the lab. Laches is now dangerously close to her with very little space between them. Examining, her eyes look down at Rinne's ring. The stone carved into an arrow being orange, something never seen in the alchemist world. Yet another symbol of the path Rinne continues to forge for herself all on her own.
Amused by the appearance of her enemy, Lachesis only scoffs. Taking nothing but delight in the concern that colors Rinne's eyes.
She pushes Lachesis away, then summoning her Alchemisdriver while that same ring changes within an instant. “Answer me!”
“They're off elsewhere, that's all I'll say on the matter... But I have plenty of time to entertain you myself.” Lachesis manifests her blade as she takes a step back. Slowly putting her veil across her face with a twisted grin.
Rinne can't trust her word. Even if they actually weren't here, Atropos and Clotho could come back at any moment. And then she'd need to fight the three of them all at once. For now she'd take things moment by moment, and prepare accordingly.
“Henshin!”
