Work Text:
They managed to avoid each other for three whole days, so Ezri’s guard is down when she finally encounters Lenara on the promenade. They both stop short; Ezri’s breath catches in her chest.
The echoes of Torias and Jadzia ache with Dax's longing, but Ezri’s still so new to this. She can barely figure out her own feelings on pudding, never mind long-lost loves.
When Lenara finally speaks, her greeting is formal, but not unkind. Ezri’s grateful for her initiative.
“Lenara Kahn.”
“Ezri Dax,” she replies, holding her hand out.
Lenara’s skin is warm. “It’s nice to finally meet you.”
