There was a time when Eda could play Raine’s body like a fiddle.
Thankfully, most of it's committed to muscle memory.
Eda touches Raine just so, and her lover — her instrument — produces the most glorious sound. If she remembers right, combining that with this should—
Eda freezes, stump extended, after trying to move a hand that's no longer there.
Raine’s eyes flutter open at the unexpected long pause, and they immediately understand the problem — they’ve always been uncannily attuned to Eda’s cues.
They gently cradle Eda’s head and press a reassuring kiss to her lips.
“We’ll find an alternate fingering.”
