Hilda held a hand on her hat as she walked through the sandstorm, walking towards the temporary tent, strapped down with more rope than might be necessary. She finally manages to dip in, sighing in relief at sand no longer tearing at her face, flopping down. Bianca lets out a shush on instinct, still focused on the storm outside, looking through her camera lens.
“What are you looking for again?”
“Been observing the Maractus. Y’know they grow cactus fruit, but it’s hard to notice on wild Maractus, because various Pokemon eat it off them. Been figuring out who does it.”
Before Hilda can even ask another question, Bianca squeaks, sliding the camera over, and rapidly taking pictures. Once whatever got her interest had passed, she turned around, looking at Hilda with stars in her eyes.
“A Mandibuzz swooped down and ate a cactus fruit off the Maractus! This is big! Researchers have been thinking Mandibuzzes have to be more than scavengers, and I got evidence of it!”
Hilda grabbed her girlfriend in a big hug, squeezing her tight. “Oooo, that’s awesome Bianca! I knew Juniper was right to train you up.”
Bianaca just giggled, too giddy to think of any words. “I need to get this to Juniper’s as soon as I can so I can start on my research paper. I wanna be the first to publish on it.”
“Brave and I can fly you there.”
“I’d love that, thank you!”
