Work Text:
PART 1
“What do you think?” Jean asked softly, settling down close to Wanda. Jean’s thighs just barely touched hers, and she could see the other woman’s hands flex as if she wants to move them closer. Wanda hadn’t quite expected the closeness – she hadn’t experienced such since Westview after all, but honestly she didn’t mind it, the warmth of another being was grounding and she wished for more. Instead of moving closer, she focused her eyes upwards towards the stars.
“It’s as beautiful as it is in my world,” Wanda admitted, “although granted this view is more than I’ve ever experienced.”
PART 2
She still can’t believe she’s on the moon – then again, she’s the all powerful Scarlet Witch and the woman beside her was known as the Phoenix, a cosmic being. If her life wasn’t strange enough the last few years, falling into this “universe” would’ve probably been her tipping point.
“No experience space traveling?” Jean asked with a smirk and Wanda quirked her lips sadly at the other red head.
“Not really, a few of my old teammates traveled through space apparently, but I was kinda indisposed at the time and then after…” Her words brought back those awful after moments.
PART 3
Jean moved closer, more of her body leaning towards Wanda – almost in response to the telepathic pain she could feel as Wanda got lost in thought of past events. Her heart ached for the woman, wishing she could take away the pain – she felt such a kinship with this woman from another world. She too experienced the darker side of power and loss after all, but more than that she liked this woman. She was hurting, yes, but she was strong and more resilient… and she was kind, smart and beautiful. So beautiful…
Jean intertwined their hands together without thinking.
PART 4
Almost as if Wanda could sense her thoughts, Wanda turned her attention back to the woman beside her, and if Jean didn’t know any better she could swear the other red head was blushing.
“Is this too much?” Jean whispered softly, and Wanda shook her head no and leaned forward until their foreheads touched.
“No, this is nice, I haven’t felt this connected to another person in a long time,” Wanda softly answered, closing her eyes as if to keep away those painful memories, but more pressing desires lingered. “Would it be crazy of me to kiss you right now?”
PART 5
Jean’s breath hitched at thought, hope and desire blooming throughout her body at the thought of them kissing. Before Wanda could potentially pull away or even retract her question, Jean caught her lips with her own. Her lips were soft and pliant under Jean’s, and the tension in Wanda seemed to drain away as their kiss deepened. They only pulled away briefly, and just enough to breath before coming back together. Wanda’s other hand, the one not intertwined, moved slowly up to Jean’s neck – as if to hold the woman to her, but neither were willing to part anytime soon.
THE END.
