"Can you hand me the bowl, dear?" Lily asked, keeping her eyes on the cutting board in front of her and her magic that cut the strawberries. Her own hands were occupied with a cooing baby Harry resting against her chest.

"Of course," Narcissa said, levitating a white ceramic bowl with pink flowers on it towards Lily, her own baby resting against her back. She was cooking the eggs and bacon for their breakfast, while Lily was making the fruit salad as dessert. Considering the two babies were not even a year old, they still drank milk and would not eat with them.

Lily made a soft hm noise as she regarded the contents of her bowl. "Okay, I have strawberries, bananas, blueberries…"

"Peach," Narcissa immediately replied, knowing that Lily was asking for the missing fruit.

"Ah, yes!"

While Lily cut the peach into small bites, she stole glances at her girlfriend—and didn't it still sound strange to call her that? The blonde was cooking eggs and bacon as if she'd grown up doing it; and not been served by an army of house elves all her life.

After the war ended, Narcissa and Lily had found themselves. There had always been this awkward sort of attraction and yearning between them during their school days. Though, neither had ever acted on it. Lily hadn't wanted to date the Slytherin princess, hadn't honestly believed that Narcissa would ever actually want to date a 'Mud-blood' like her.

And Narcissa had been stuck in her role as a pure-blooded daughter of the Blacks. While she hadn't exactly been forced to marry Lucius, had always had a crush on him…Narcissa had always wished for more freedom.

After Dumbledore had defeated Voldemort a few months after those horrifying news that Lily's son was a target, James and Lily had decided to break off their relationship. Both of them had realised during the war that they were meant for someone else. Honestly, with the amount of obsession that had always been between James and Sirius, she hadn't been surprised that the two of them were dating now. And considering they were Harry's father and god-father respectively, they visited often. According to Narcissa—Sirius' cousin—too often.

Family dinners with Severus as Draco's godfather present were always very exhausting, to say the least.

Narcissa's husband Lucius had been shipped off to Azkaban for fighting on Voldemort's side in the war. So, both Narcissa and Lily had found themselves without a husband. Until they had met in Diagon Alley, where Lily had used all her Gryffindor courage to invite her to Godric's Hollow which James had left her and Harry. They had been inseparable ever since.

"Are they okay like this? You complained about them not being runny enough the last time," Narcissa said, rolling her eyes with a smile.

Lily leaned over. "One more minute should be okay. I will bring the salad and tableware outside." She levitated everything they needed outside to their little table to enjoy the warm morning sun. Harry was still sleepy and babbling softly against her chest.

"Et voilá!" Narcissa exclaimed, dividing their breakfast between their plates, before putting little Draco in the highchair next to little Harry. Draco grumbled something to Harry who squealed something back; probably complaining about having been woken up.

They had no plans for today, just enjoying their Saturday together and lazing around their pool; which Narcissa had insisted on adding, just like the plethora of roses, lilies and other sweet smelling flowers. Sirius and James always complained, which made the two women like the flowers even more.

Once they had finished eating, Lily began asking, "Should we-" but was interrupted by Narcissa already putting a shielding charm around their dishes.

"We can clean up later, this will keep the flies away. Let's cuddle on the sofa, Lily."

Having no objections to that, Lily got up to pick up her baby to lie down on the soft, white luxury sofa a few steps away. Her girlfriend retrieved a still grumpy Draco that immediately started to beam and babble at his mother the moment he was in her arms. Gosh, Lily already loved being a mother, but watching the woman she loved be a mother, too? She hadn't known she could be filled with so much happiness.

Harry began to coo nonsense along with his brother as Narcissa cuddled herself to Lily's side, putting her manicured foot over Lily's. She sighed in contentment. "This is so nice. Who need's men?"

"Right?" Lily chuckled and smiled at Narcissa, "Who needs them?"

Draco's and Harry's loud coos made the two women laugh. "You heard that didn't you?"

Lily kissed Harry's forehead. "You two are the exception, of course."
