Rei lay down the bed in her underwear only and put her glasses away. Akane approached her and started massaging her, beginning on her shoulders.
“You should care about yourself more, Rei,” Akane said, worried.
Akane just sighed. There really wasn't anything else she could do for her, was there?
She was slowly lowering her hands down Rei's body. They were dating for some time already, she didn't know much of her past yet. She could feel there was something they had in common, though.
Rei didn't let many people to go close to her. The only ones who did that were Yamato, Mikako and Akane, with the last one being obviously the closest.
She simply didn't see it as safe to create close bonds, even if there could be more people with who she could just talk about the stuff that was bothering her.
She didn't want to rely on others.
“You're… Really strong, Akane,” she said.
“A maid should be strong.”
She was wondering why did Akane say it over and over that “maid should this” and “that”, even if these weren't the things that actually weren't something one would expect from a maid. That was a puzzle she wasn't capable of solving. And it was frustrating.
Shortly after Akane finished the massage, Rei fell asleep, so she covered her with a blanket and pressed a kiss to her head, stroking her hair gently.
“Sleep well, Rei. You deserve it.”
