Work Text:

Hanamaru rubbed her arms, the cold air of autumn making her shiver slightly. It had been dark for several hours and she didn't feel comfortable waiting alone. She sighed, cursing herself for not having asked for a mobile phone for her last birthday - at least she could have used it to know what time it was or to call the person who had decided they should meet during the night and was making her wait.

The creak of a branch startled her and she turned suddenly, coming face to face with a very familiar blonde girl.

“Mari!” she shouted, before putting a hand over her mouth, realising almost too late that she was speaking far too loudly.

Mari offered her a bright smile before grabbing her hand and intertwining their fingers.

“I hope you haven't been waiting for too long. Shall we go now?”

Hanamaru nodded shyly. The reproaches she had been thinking about had suddenly disappeared when Mari had arrived. She was way too late and maybe they were too young to be out at such an hour, but if it was to see that smile she loved so much, she would do it again to follow Mari anywhere.
