Karin's popularity could sometimes be a bother. She was recognised in the street, could not walk around and even at school she could see the sidelong glances she was given. Sometimes she liked this attention and enjoyed having girls blushing when she smiled at them. Most of the time though she felt like a freak.
There was only one person she felt comfortable with. Emma knew everything about her and how she felt about being popular, but she was always sweet. If with others she felt like a freak, Emma, by her very presence, made her feel like a princess.
