The first time they are intimate, the universe unravels at the back of Valentina’s throat. She hadn’t been touched in so long — in so, so long . She hadn’t been touched in so long, and it’s easy to allow your mind to wander in the absence of touch. The being seems to soak up Valentina’s cravings; Valentina can feel her stirring from within as she daydreams about impossible futures, Valentina can feel her cool, alien touch drum at her kneecaps, praying, asking for permission, praying.
The being inside of her has only ever wanted harmony, and she has only ever wanted harmony. This is certainly new, but this was inevitable; they’re so close now, they’re almost one whole inextricable being, merged for eternity in love. Valentina gives a soft nod, and rests her head against the back of Niles Caulder’s space vessel A warm, sea-green tendril travels up her inner thigh, dragging along the flesh with slight suction as it works.
She places a hand over her chest. “I’ve wanted this for so long,” she whispers, feeling the extension of the being she adores root between her legs and start to vibrate with bursts of electricity. “But you knew that, didn’t you?”
She thinks about what lies outside of the vessel -- space, so vast and cold yet warm enough to unite them in destiny. She thinks about the future and no longer trembles. She smiles, wide, and her chest glows a soft green —
oh,
there’s her answer.
