Work Text:

Fleur is often told she was born to be an artist’s muse. She could model as Venus or Helen of Troy, the face that launched a thousand ships.  But it doesn’t take any effort to be beautiful, to be beheld. Fleur wants to create beauty, to see it where others can’t or won’t. So instead she becomes an artist herself, and she meets a woman with a face that launches a thousand paintings.

Tonks is truly a painter’s dream, so much more than merely beautiful, an artist working in the medium of her own changeable body.  She has complete control over her elastic features. The smallest tweak of her countenance leads to a kaleidoscope of metamorphoses on the canvas.  Fleur never grows tired of posing her, painting her, making art of her and then making love to her.

Fellow artists envy the beautiful painter with her mysterious model. They beg Fleur to arrange sittings or even a single meeting with Tonks, but she always demurs. She wants Tonks to herself, their delicious tangle of art and beauty, beholder and beheld. Fleur loves that there are facets of her muse only she sees, faces of her lover too sacred to paint.
