Work Text:

“Do you have any ways to deal with the crystal slimes? I swear those spikes they make are sharper than a sword!” Mochi had been complaining over the Range Exchange to her girlfriend, Beatrix. She was dearly glad the machine auto-captioned her words, not wanting to slow down her ranting to sign all her thoughts.

Beatrix just giggled, and Mochi basically melted. Why did Beatrix have to go to Rainbow Island? Unless they finally set up that teleporter system, Mochi can’t see her in person.

“…I miss you, Bea.” Mochi finally admits.

Beatrix nods, but does something on her end of the call that Mochi can’t see. She watches, confused, until Viktor shows up on screen.

“Ah, Ms. Miles, you’re here too. Anyways, Beatrix, I have finished calculating the teleporters for the locations you gave me. You can just type in theeeeese….” He stretched out his words until some numbers appeared on screen. “Coordinates. And it should automatically connect both ends.”

Beatrix clapped in excitement, and ran off to do just that. Mochi blinked. “Don’t those teleporters automatically link when she places them?”

“Yes, but she was wanting to reprogram some of her old teleporters from her Dry Reef ranch.”

Mochi hummed. “What teleporters?”

Mochi didn’t even get to wait for an answer, as she was suddenly enveloped in a hug. Her brain short-circuited, and she turned around to see Beatrix hugging her, grinning like a Hunter slime.

“Looks like they worked. Good day Ms. Miles, Beatrix.” Viktor hung up the call.

‘Surprise!’ Beatrix signed, finally letting go of Mochi.

Mochi shoved her into another hug. She missed this so much.
