“Are those all the documents you need?” Kiki asked, leaning over her girlfriend’s desk.
“Yes. Ms. Celestine was very helpful!” Rosa said with a smile, organizing her latest case files.
“You’re moving up so fast in the world, it’s amazing to watch!” Kiki says, pulling up another chair to sit by Rosa, deciding they’re taking a break right now to talk.
“It’s not that amazing; I’m just doing my job, same as you,” Rosa insists.
“But I’m still just an intern. You’re a proper lawyer.”
“Still, I think you’re doing just as well as me.”
Kiki decides to just lay it to rest, and takes Rosa’s free hand in hers, gently toying with her fingers. “That new crime drama started last night. It was such a thrilling pilot!”
Rosa listened carefully as her girlfriend relayed the whole episode to her, going through all the details. It’s a skill they both picked up as they studied law, and now they noticed most background details of any show they watched.
“I really think you’d like this one, Rosa.” Kiki finally finished, squeezing her hand just a little.
Rosa thought on it for a few moments, and she had honestly gotten invested in Kiki’s pitch. “You know? I just might. We can make a date of it.”
Kiki squealed in happiness, and hugged Rosa tightly. “I’m so excited! Thank you!”
Rosa patted her back, but caught a glimpse of a clock. “Oh! We should get back to work. When’s that second episode airing?”
“Tomorrow at 7pm. My place or yours?”
“Come over to my house. I have a few new books I want to show you.”
Kiki nodded, and gave Rosa one last squeeze, before getting up and going back to her desk. Rosa returned to her work, but with a soft smile now, looking forward to the date with her girlfriend tomorrow.
