“And here is my bedroom,” Renge announced with a sweeping motion of her arms. It was a very large room, especially to Haruhi. No amount of time at Ouran Academy could get her used to how extravagantly these rich people lived.
“Oh, it’s that character,” Haruhi said, heading to a display case against a wall. Indeed, it was filled with merchandise of the same character who Renge’s obsession with brought her to Ouran in the first place. Looks like she was still attached. “I’m surprised Kyoka-senpai shunning you didn’t sour this character for you.”
Renge laughed. “Of course not! Love is devotion, after all. Nothing like that was going to dissuade me.”
Haruhi gave the girl a gentle smile, which Renge returned. Haruhi was always great at tempering Renge’s boisterous nature. She walked over to join her at the display case, and placed a gentle hand on the small of Haruhi’s back.
“Of course, now that I have a real girlfriend to care about, he has fallen in his importance. So, don’t get jealous!” Renge grinned, her natural loudness slipping out once again.
“I wouldn’t dream of it. But, I am glad to hear how important I am to you.”
Renge couldn’t hold back a squeal of affection, and squished Haruhi’s cheeks in excitement. “You’re adorable, darling!”
Haruhi couldn’t hold back a giggle. “I’m glad you think so. I think you’re quite beautiful yourself.”
“Looks like you’re still in host mode,” Renge teased.
“I’m not trying to flatter you. Just being honest. Promise.” Haruhi offered up her pinkie, and Renge hooked hers, smiling softly at the childishness of the gesture.
“Thank you, then.”
