Mai had never liked fireworks. They were loud, bothersome and the crowd gathering to watch them was annoying. In short, she didn't like them at all and avoided them like the plague. Yet, despite her aversion, it didn't keep her from spending most of her time with Ty Lee. She was also loud, bothersome, could never be quiet and moved all the time but she was also cheerful, determined and incredibly sweet.

The more time Mai spent with her, the more she understood why people loved fireworks so much. After all, that was exactly what she felt for Ty Lee.
