Chapter Text
Black, that’s all there is now. There is no feeling, no thoughts, just black. The darkness is comforting, you can feel yourself slipping, but would that be so bad? Isn’t this nice, don’t you want to give in? Everything is so calm now, not having to think or feel. Suddenly though you feel yourself breathing again, when did you stop? You realize your eyes have been closed this whole time, how long were they?
Elizabeth slowly blinks the sleep from her eyes, she stares into a place she’s overly familiar with, it’s the ceiling of her childhood bedroom. She turns over and sees the rest of the room, feels the bed beneath her, she’s back. Getting up she looks around the room, it’s exactly as she remembers, perfectly preserved. However something feels off, she walks up to the nearby mirror, covered in pink heart stickers much like most other things in the room. The mirror reflects back her body, but this isn’t her, not anymore, she’s a teenager again like her whole life since Charlie’s death was just a nightmare. She runs her fingers over the pale skin of her face, the sensation is similar but slightly off from normal, like someone trying to remember what the sense of touch is supposed to be.
Elizabeth wanders over to the dresser standing along one of the room’s pink walls. On it stands a photo of her and her father, they both look so happy and Elizabeth can’t help but smile, grabbing it to stare at it more deeply.
ELIZABETH: Oh Father, you were always so good to me.
Elizabeth rubs her thumbs over the frame. Her father wearing a purple button up with a beige overcoat and a half smirk on his face stares up at her through the photo. His hand is on her shoulder as she beams towards the camera wearing her father’s favorite dress, all prettied up the way he tells her to. A pain raises through Elizabeth now, how could she have let him down. She’s supposed to be his perfect girl, he taught her so much about how to dress, how to look, and yet she stopped doing it all. He would be so disappointed.
Elizabeth sets the photo down, turning to the other next to it. Her eyes can barely look at it, Charlie and her shoulder to shoulder and laughing at each other, so full of joy. Elizabeth looks away already feeling the guilt raise within her, she looks to her father again.
ELIZABETH: I know you wouldn’t hurt me.
She repeats it in her mind over and over, but yet the guilt of ignoring Charlie’s warning still builds within her. She just has to keep saying it and these feelings will go away. Elizabeth reaches for the door’s handle and twists it, however she doesn’t find the rest of her childhood home outside. Outside is a twisting, never ending hall of indicial doors. Elizabeth steps out, feet unsteady as she walks through the hall. She feels the place ever shifting beneath her feet, rearranging itself as the doors just keep going on and on. She has no idea how long it is until she spots something off in the distance.
ELIZABETH: Dad?
A silhouetted figure resembling William turns around, it’s fully purple and face is distorted into a wide grin. Its body flops around as it moves, it acts like a loose puppet barely able to keep itself up right as the puppeteer drags it around in a mockery of human movement. The face is static, a fake wide grin plastered on it as it flops its head over to stare at Elizabeth.
ELIZABETH: D-Dad…
Before Elizabeth can even see it move it appears in front of her, its shape dripping like oil as its body reshapes unsuccessfully to that of a rabbit. Its body is a grotesque mix of William and a rabbit, barely able to keep shape as it falls apart in clumps reaching out for Elizabeth.
WILLIAM?: E liz a beth
WILLIAM?: He lp me
Elizabeth backs away from the creature.
ELIZABETH: You’re not him.
Elizabeth turns to run, but the creature catches her leg causing her to fall to the ground with a thud. The creature lifts her up by the leg and unhinges its jaw as it dangles her above it. Elizabeth panicking kicks the creature through the chest with her free leg, causing it to fall apart into a puddle. She lands on the floor yet again, now covered in the inky substance of the creature. Before Elizabeth can do anything though the creature starts reforming, its shape even more distorted as it tries to pull itself back together. Without thinking Elizabeth bolts to the nearest door and stumbles inside, she can hear the creature rushing behind her but she doesn’t dare look back until she’s in. When she does look back the door is gone, just a white picket fence where it was.
Looking around Elizabeth realizes she’s in a backyard, the place seems familiar but she can’t remember why. There is a large gathering of people milling about, but all their conversations sound like white noise and their forms are hard to make out, it’s all just a blur. Sneaking though the crowd Elizabeth finds something tucked away in the corner that instantly draws her attention.
ELIZABETH: Henry!
Off in the corner stands a large dark skinned man with bread, glasses, and a stack of papers. He’s wearing an orange flannel with the sleeves rolled up, and dirty jeans and work boots. Leaning on the fence next to him is William who puffs on a smoke as Henry ruffles through his papers. Henry is chatting with William about something nervously, showing him various blueprints. William seems to be barely paying attention, looking more annoyed than anything as he continues to take a long drag from his cigarette.
ELIZABETH: Wait, I remember this.
Elizabeth feels her body shift around, regressing back into a child. When she looks back up the area has shifted as she’s now hiding under a large tree in the very same backyard. She nervously plays with the hem of her pink dress as she looks down at the ground trying her best to disappear into the background.
CHARLIE: Hey!
Elizabeth looks up cautiously to see a girl around the same age as her standing next to her, she’s dressed in green and her dark face beams with a welcoming smile.
CHARLIE: I don’t recognize you, are you new here?
Elizabeth shifts her feet unsure of herself before she responds.
ELIZABETH: Y-yes, father and I just moved here recently.
CHARLIE: That’s cool, where were you guys before?
ELIZABETH: Hm, England.
CHARLIE: Oh wow, that’s so cool!
CHARLIE: Why did you guys move all the way out here?
ELIZABETH: …
Elizabeth stares down at the ground again as she starts to shake.
ELIZABETH: M-my mother passed away, father said this was a fresh start.
Charlie rests her hand on her shoulder, trying to calm Elizabeth down as she feels the tears well up in her eyes.
CHARLIE: Oh, I’m sorry for asking, but it’s okay my mother passed too.
CHARLIE: …
CHARLIE: When I was born actually…
CHARLIE: I know it’s not the same, but trust me I get it.
Elizabeth looks up at her through her tears, Charlie looks nervous now too, but she still gives a smile trying to reassure her.
CHARLIE: Hey how about you tell me about England?
CHARLIE: I can tell you all the cool spots in town too!
Elizabeth feels her tears stop as she gives a smile of her own.
ELIZABETH: Oh, yes there are so many wonderful things I can tell you.
Elizabeth and Charlie chat with each other for what feels like hours, both have no sense for the time passing around them. Elizabeth smiles as she feels the world shift again, the grass of the backyard morphing into the soft plush of a carpet beneath her. Her body grows ever so slightly as time passes. The outside is gone as the two girls sit in Elizabeth’s bedroom, Charlie hanging upside down off the bed as she stares down at Elizabeth on the floor.
CHARLIE: So Liz what do you think, you like it?
Elizabeth stares at the bright green bracelet around her wrist, she smiles at it as she rubs her fingers over its surface.
ELIZABETH: It’s beautiful Charlie, thank you so much.
CHARLIE: Aw, I’m glad you like it Liz!
CHARLIE: I like yours too!
Charlie bumps her wrist up to Elizabeth’s, clinking the two’s bracelets together. Hers a bright pink against Elizabeth’s green.
CHARLIE: Best friends?
ELIZABETH: Best friends!
Charlie brings Elizabeth into a warm hug as the two let out a giggle. Elizabeth feels the warmth around her dissolve as she finds herself in an empty black space. Her mind returns back to her, no longer lost to the memories.
ELIZABETH: Where am I, why am I being shown all this?
Elizabeth feels herself shift yet again back to how she was when she first entered, a teenager. She’s sinking into the soft cushion of the sofa beneath her, she shifts nervously on it as she feels a heat rising in her gut, burning its way into her throat. The soft glow of the TV acting as the only source of light at this hour, illuminating the living room around her. Elizabeth has long since stopped paying attention to the movie playing, it becoming little more than a low drone as her mind struggles to focus on anything. She doesn’t know what’s going on. Things were going as usual until a few moments ago when Charlie scooted in closer, their thighs lightly grazing each other’s. Elizabeth can feel Charlie’s warmth next to her, the subtle movements of her breathing; it all makes her gut turn, she feels like throwing up.
Elizabeth had no idea when it first started, but it felt like suddenly out of nowhere everything became different with Charlie, each hug made something grow within her in a way it never did the years before. She can’t figure out what she’s feeling, or maybe she can and is too scared to admit it. She just wishes it would stop before she does something to scare Charlie off, she doesn’t know what she would do if she loses her. She doesn’t know what she would do if Charlie hated her.
CHARLIE: Liz?
Elizabeth is snapped back to reality as she hears Charlie’s soft voice, barely above a whisper and coated in worry, call out to her.
CHARLIE: Are you feeling alright Liz, you look sick?
Elizabeth manages to turn her head slightly, just barely glimpsing Charlie’s face. She sees the worry in her eyes, and it makes her feel awful.
ELIZABETH: I-I’m fine.
CHARLIE: You don’t sound fine Liz, please tell me what’s going on?
Charlie places the popcorn in her arms down, freeing her hand to gently rest on Elizabeth’s shoulder, giving her a reassuring squeeze. Elizabeth feels her stomach flip, and realizes just how close they are. Her breathing picks up and she’s unable to move.
ELIZABETH: I-I…
Elizabeth’s voice dies in her throat as her brain fails to provide her any words.
CHARLIE: Did I… Do something?
CHARLIE: You've been acting weird every time we hang out.
CHARLIE: Please Liz, tell me what’s going on.
Charlie looks like she’s about to cry, and that breaks Elizabeth’s heart. She never wanted to make her feel bad, none of this is her fault.
ELIZABETH: N-No, Charlie you didn’t do anything.
CHARLIE: Then what’s going on?
CHARLIE: You can always tell me anything Liz.
Charlie moved her hands to hold Elizabeth’s, looking up at her. Elizabeth can feel her face heating up.
ELIZABETH: I-I don’t know what’s wrong.
ELIZABETH: I just have been feeling… strange.
CHARLIE: How so?
Elizabeth bites her lip, she doesn’t know how to explain it, she doesn’t know if she should explain it. She retracts her hand from Charlie’s grip and stares into the ground below.
CHARLIE: Liz please.
CHARLIE: I’m sure whatever it is isn’t any worse than things I already know.
CHARLIE: You’re like a sister to me Liz, I don’t want you to hide anything.
CHARLIE: Let me help you.
Elizabeth pauses for a moment, taking a deep breath to calm herself.
ELIZABETH: You’re like a sister to me too Charlie.
CHARLIE: I’m happy to hear that Liz.
CHARLIE: Now tell me what’s going on.
Elizabeth takes a few more breaths, trying her best to steady herself.
ELIZABETH: Charlie can I ask you something?
CHARLIE: Of course.
ELIZABETH: You dated that boy before right?
CHARLIE: John?
CHARLIE: Yeah we dated I guess, but we were so young.
CHARLIE: I don’t think it was much of anything really.
CHARLIE: Why do you ask, is there a boy that caught your eye?
Elizabeth recoiled at the statement. She never liked the idea of having to date some boy no matter how much her father kept trying to set her up. She assumed she was still too young, that maybe one year she’ll start feeling how she’s supposed to, but right now she is beginning to doubt that.
CHARLIE: I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to upset you.
CHARLIE: I just thought…
CHARLIE: If that’s not why then why did you ask?
ELIZABETH: I wanted to know what it felt like to… to love someone.
Charlie pondered for a moment at that, trying to think of how to respond.
CHARLIE: Well again I don’t know if we really loved each other.
CHARLIE: But I would say it’s this warmth in your gut.
CHARLIE: This feeling of your breath being taken away whenever your eyes meet.
CHARLIE: The desire to be close and never let go.
Charlie moved her hand to Elizabeth’s thigh and held it there, her warm touch sending ripples up Elizabeth’s spine.
ELIZABETH: Cha-Charlie.
Elizabeth steadies herself again, but it doesn’t really work. She shakes while she speaks.
ELIZABETH: I think I like you.
ELIZABETH: More than a friend, more than a sister.
ELIZABETH: I-I think I love you?
ELIZABETH: Can I love you?
ELIZABETH: I-I thought… It doesn’t work like that?
Charlie backs up a bit and takes Elizabeth in fully, her whole body is shivering and she looks on the verge of tears, a sob is already making its way to her throat as she speaks.
CHARLIE: I-I don’t know…
ELIZABETH: I’m so sorry Charlie, I don’t know what’s wrong with me.
Elizabeth finally lets the sob free and collapses into herself, she can’t bear to look at Charlie anymore.
ELIZABETH: I’m terrible, this is all wrong and I don’t know what to do.
ELIZABETH: I’m not supposed to like you, w-what would father think?
ELIZABETH: I’m such a disappointment.
ELIZABETH: He’ll be so mad I let him down like this.
ELIZABETH: How could I let him down like this?
Elizabeth’s voice is barely holding together as she lets every thought spill free.
CHARLIE: Liz you aren’t a disappointment!
CHARLIE: I can’t say I know what to do, I can’t say how your father will feel.
CHARLIE: But I can say you’re still the most amazing person I know.
CHARLIE: I love you Liz, no matter who you are.
The sobs stop as Elizabeth feels herself frozen in place, she finally meets Charlie’s eyes again. Her soft smile is beautiful and there is such caring in her eyes. Charlie cradles Elizabeth’s face brushing the tears from eyes as they both continue to stare.
Soft flesh and warm breath is all Elizabeth can feel, before her mind has even caught up she realizes her body shot forward clumsily pressing Charlie and her into a kiss, noses bumping, it’s messy and imperfect. When Elizabeth’s mind finally catches up she pushes herself away, as far as she can get from Charlie, nearly falling off the sofa.
ELIZABETH: I’m so sorry Charlie.
ELIZABETH: I-I don’t know what I was…
CHARLIE: Liz please calm down, it’s okay.
CHARLIE: I-I liked it.
CHARLIE: I think I feel the same way, I just didn’t have the words.
ELIZABETH: But this is wrong, we aren’t supposed to…
CHARLIE: Did it feel wrong?
ELIZABETH: …
ELIZABETH: No…
CHARLIE: I don’t know what this is Liz, but I know it felt right.
CHARLIE: So how about we try it out, just for a bit.
CHARLIE: We can figure out what it is together, you don’t have to deal with this alone.
Charlie grabbed Elizabeth’s hand, interlocking their fingers together as she gave the most reassuring smile she could muster.
ELIZABETH: I-I love you Charlie.
CHARLIE: Me too Liz.
Elizabeth pulled herself onto Charlie’s lap as the two of them cuddled in the warm glow of the TV. Elizabeth tries to hold on, wanting this moment to never end, but she feels the world fade around her yet again. Charlie dissipating through her fingers as she’s pulled from the memory of that night and into the cold chill of empty space yet again.
ELIZABETH: Oh Charlie, you’ve always been helping me haven’t you.
ELIZABETH: Why didn’t I listen to you?
Elizabeth knocks her fist into her forehead in frustration. The world then pulls back around her, a warmth returns to her body, she feels soft lips against hers again. She breathes heavily, sweat beginning to trickle lightly down her face. The kiss is passionate and practiced, no longer the fumbling mess of inexperience. She feels the pressure of Charlie’s warm body against hers, pulling her as close as possible, fusing their bodies into one. Elizabeth runs her fingers though Charlie’s hair, feeling the strong texture of it run across the soft skin of her palms in a way that sends jolts though her.
CHARLIE: L-Liz…
Charlie’s words are breathy, but filled with love. Charlie’s lovely chocolate skin now begins to glisten with sweat, her messy dark hair being pulled wildly in Elizabeth’s tight grasp. All Elizabeth can think is she’s the most beautiful girl in the world, she wishes the two of them could stay like this forever. They press back together, continuing their moment. They’re so consumed by it they fail to recognize the sound of the door opening, and the footsteps shaking the whole room from their force.
WILLIAM: Get off my daughter!
Both of them fail to react before William has Charlie grab by the shirt pulling her off Elizabeth’s bed and causing her to fall onto the hard floor below.
WILLIAM: I knew you were trouble!
WILLIAM: You’re lucky you’re your father’s kid!
WILLIAM: What would he think if he knew his daughter was a dyke!
WILLIAM: And how dare you try to bring my own daughter down with you!
Charlie curls up on herself as she starts bawling, nothing but choked sobs able to escape her mouth as William continues to berate her.
WILLIAM: Stop crying and get up, don’t pretend to feel bad.
WILLIAM: You’re leaving, and we’re going to talk to your father.
WILLIAM: You hear me!
WILLIAM: And don’t you think of seeing my daughter again.
WILLIAM: You’re banned from ever hanging out with her, you got it!
William pulls Charlie off the ground by the arm, dragging her towards the door, his grip so hard it feels like he might break bone. Elizabeth finally finds herself unfrozen, her fear pushed aside as her body screams at her.
ELIZABETH: It was me!
Elizabeth doesn’t even realize what she said before the words leave her mouth in a desperate yell.
ELIZABETH: Please father leave her alone.
ELIZABETH: This is my fault, I made her do it.
ELIZABETH: Please don’t punish her.
Elizabeth breaks out into a sob of her own as she continues to beg, she doesn’t know what she would do if she lost Charlie, not now, not when she needs her the most.
WILLIAM: Don’t lie to me Elizabeth, I know it was her.
WILLIAM: So tell me again who’s fault this is.
The words weren’t a question, but a command. Elizabeth could see in her father’s face what he wanted her to say, and so she said it.
ELIZABETH: Hers.
WILLIAM: That’s what I thought.
William leaves the room with Charlie in hand, slamming the door behind them. Elizabeth’s mind finally catches up with her fully and she breaks into a sob, wet and strained. She doubles over, no longer able to keep her own weight up as she lets everything out. It’s all too much for her, she feels herself slipping away as everything fades once more.
The soft glow of the sign above illuminates Elizabeth’s form, rain pouring down over her body. Police sirens can be heard speeding towards the closed “Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza.” Elizabeth rubs the tears still clinging to her face as she pushes herself off the ground, legs shaky and weak. She takes a look at the building in front of her, it’s Freddy’s the way she remembered except an air of sadness is draped over it. She pushes open the entrance and makes her way inside the building, it’s cold inside and dead quiet. All the lights have been turned off leaving the place to be painted by the red and blue lights of the police cars that have pulled up, all other colors seemed drained from this once colorful place. Elizabeth stands in front of a photo of William and Henry reading “Founders” below, the smile on their faces causing her stomach to turn, she turns away as fast as she can. A quiet sobbing makes its presence known, drawing Elizabeth towards it.
Henry sits on the floor cradling Charlie’s lifeless body, tears dripping onto her body as a toppled over birthday cake lays in ruin beside them, fallen from the table next to it. Elizabeth feels all the air in the room sucked out, her legs wanting to give out from under her as she feels her sob returning to her throat. A hand grips her shoulder tightly causing her to jump, she looks up to see Charlie next to her. She looks back to see her body is gone from Henry’s arms, but he’s still acting as if it’s there.
CHARLIE: I’m sorry you have to see this Liz.
Elizabeth looks at her, her body is clearly still that of a corpse but she speaks as if nothing happened, calm and soft.
CHARLIE: I’m glad you weren’t here when it happened.
CHARLIE: Did you know I begged for you before I died?
CHARLIE: Heh.
CHARLIE: Dad never got mad at me you know, he pretended for your father of course.
CHARLIE: He said he was going to work out a way for us to still see each other.
CHARLIE: I don’t think it would have worked though, William clearly hated me.
CHARLIE: I know you loved him, but it really hurt seeing you cave to his demands.
CHARLIE: Even now you still side with him over me…
CHARLIE: I love you Liz, I always will, but I’m mad.
CHARLIE: I’m mad you still won’t listen.
CHARLIE: How could I not be given what he did.
Charlie’s glassy eyes start to well up with tears, they pour down her and drip onto the checkered floor below, her voice cracking slightly as she speaks.
ELIZABETH: W-what do you mean what he did?
Charlie looks to Elizabeth, she sees the confusion in her face.
CHARLIE: Did… Did you not know?
ELIZABETH: K-know what?
Elizabeth’s breath gets shaky as panic rears its way into her head.
CHARLIE: J-just go look for yourself.
CHARLIE: In the kitchen.
Elizabeth nervously creeps towards the kitchen, she can’t feel her body anymore everything is spinning and she feels herself move on auto pilot. When she opens the door she sees it, William is standing over the cake, lacing it with something. She doesn’t even need to know what it is to know what it means. She can’t breathe, the air is too heavy and everything feels like it’s burning holes into her, she needs to leave this is all too much.
Before she knows it she’s pushed her way out back and back into the pouring way, she runs and runs until her legs give out. Hands splashing into a puddle she stares into it, she’s an adult again. She sees herself staring back in the water, her brain still processing everything. She looks up to see her father’s car, through the window she can see her younger self, all giddy wanting for her father to come back so they can head home. It makes her want to vomit.
ELIZABETH: Why? Why?
ELIZABETH: I loved her!
ELIZABETH: You loved me, why did you…
ELIZABETH: Why couldn’t you let us be happy?
ELIZABETH: I thought… I thought you wanted me to be happy…
ELIZABETH: I thought you loved me…
Elizabeth feels herself break as the tears come flowing out, she curls up on the asphalt letting the rain and tears soak her completely.
CHARLIE: I love you too Liz.
Charlie hugs Elizabeth from the side, Elizabeth turns into her letting her hug her full. She cries into her shoulder as she desperately grips on the back of Charlie’s shirt.
CHARLIE: I can’t imagine how you feel Liz, this must be all so much for you.
CHARLIE: I’m here though, no matter what.
CHARLIE: I’m sorry I didn’t tell you, I thought you knew.
CHARLIE: It's why it made me so mad seeing you side with him.
CHARLIE: But I don’t blame you anymore.
Charlie rubs circles on Elizabeth’s back, her voice soft and quiet. Elizabeth feels her sobs begin to slow as she finally pulls herself off Charlie’s shoulder. She stares into her face, and sees that she too is back to being a fully grown adult.
ELIZABETH: You don’t have to be sorry Charlie, I should have known.
ELIZABETH: I think some part of me knew he was bad, but I could never accept it.
ELIZABETH: He made me feel like he cared, but I don’t think he did.
ELIZABETH: I think he just wanted me to do what he said.
ELIZABETH: I feel so stupid for always defending him.
ELIZABETH Why did I let him tell me what to do?
Elizabeth is now jamming her fist to her forehead as hard as she can.
CHARLIE: Liz, it’s not your fault.
CHARLIE: You were abused.
CHARLIE: It’s not your fault that he used your love against you.
ELIZABETH: Then why does it feel like it is?
CHARLIE: Because that’s how he made you feel.
CHARLIE: He always makes you think it’s your fault.
CHARLIE: But it’s not.
Charlie pulls Elizabeth in tighter, as close as they can be as she continues to rub her back.
ELIZABETH: I understand why you killed him now.
ELIZABETH: I love you Charlie.
CHARLIE: I know Liz.
Elizabeth leans forward, but stops before pushing fully in, watching Charlie’s face to see if it’s okay. She nods and then two make out in the rain, nothing else matters except the warmth between them, it all fades away as the two take in every bit of love each other has. When they part, their warm breaths intertwine together as they stare into each other's eyes.
The rain is gone, they’re now in a room of some kind. The two of them look up and around to see it’s a bedroom.
CHARLIE: I… I don’t recognize this?
Charlie gets up and notices a photo on a nearby table, she pulls it towards her and nearly drops it. It’s a wedding photo of William and his wife, both dressed in white and with smiles on their faces.
CHARLIE: Liz, where are we?
Charlie drops the photo to the ground shattering it on impact as she turns around. William sits on the bed, smoke in hand as he takes puffs. Behind him lies his wife, her body draped over the bed. Her glassy eyes stare off to space as blood creeps its way out of the corner of her mouth. Blood drips from the bed and onto the floor, William having some of his hands, it stains the cigarette he's holding. Elizabeth is bottomed over in front of the bed sobbing onto the floor as the blood pools into her hands. Charlie races over to grab her, but before she’s able to bring her into another hug Elizabeth pushes herself up.
ELIZABETH: Where is he?
Elizabeth’s face is shadowed, her stare instance as she stands over Charlie. Green eyes piercing through her, freezing her in place.
ELIZABETH: I said, where are you!
ELIZABETH: Show yourself!
Elizabeth screams as she slams her foot into the ground, which gives way like glass as the entire room shatters in on itself dropping the two women into the endless black. The two feel themselves falling for what feels like entirety until they land onto the hard asphalt below. A warm orange glow bathes them as they find themselves on the highway at night. Getting up their bodies feel sore and bruised, but they look around and manage to find the direction of the glow. When they reach it they see a car down the cliff at the edge of the road on fire.
CHARLIE: This is where-
ELIZABETH: He faked his death.
As both women stare into the blaze below, crackling in the night air, a voice calls out.
WILLIAM: Elizabeth!
WILLIAM: Elizabeth, help me!
WILLIAM: Save me!
William drags himself up the cliff by his arms, legs broken and body a flame. His voice is weak as the fire shears off his skin. Once he reaches them he screams one last time before melting into a pile of burned goo. Elizabeth breathes shakily, her entire body shivering at the sight as the smell of burnt flesh fills her nose.
ELIZABETH: T-That’s not how it went.
WILLIAM: No, but that doesn’t mean you can’t help me.
Elizabeth turns around to see the misshapen rabbit again, its form solidifying into that of William’s death suit, the yellow rabbit.
WILLIAM: Come on Elizabeth, give in.
WILLIAM: Let your father take over.
WILLIAM: Don’t you want me to live again?
Elizabeth tries to calm herself with her breath.
CHARLIE: She doesn’t have to do anything!
CHARLIE: Give her her body back!
WILLIAM: I don’t remember asking you.
WILLIAM: Now stop corrupting my daughter with your lies and let her speak for herself.
William grabs Charlie by the throat and begins choking her.
ELIZABETH: Father no, let her go please!
WILLIAM: Why? So she can ruin you even more?
WILLIAM: No, I think you would be much better with this trash gone.
William tightens his grip on Charlie’s neck, she struggles to break free, but he’s so much stronger than her.
ELIZABETH: I will never help you, not anymore, not after what you did.
ELIZABETH: You killed my mother.
ELIZABETH: You killed my girlfriend.
ELIZABETH: You ditched me and made me think you were dead for years.
ELIZABETH: You never cared, you never loved me.
ELIZABETH: If you did you would have accepted us.
ELIZABETH: You’re a piece of shit and I’m done being your puppet.
Elizabeth rushes forward and tackles William to the ground, causing him to drop Charlie.
ELIZABETH: I fucking hate you.
Elizabeth punches William in the face, her fist hurts from the impact on the rabbit mask, but she doesn’t care.
WILLIAM: Elizabeth, stop this now!
ELIZABETH: No, not until your out of my fucking head!
Elizabeth continues to pummel William, her fists bleeding from impacts, but barely doing any damage to the mask.
WILLIAM: Enough of this!
William shoots up, knocking Elizabeth away, her body scraping against the rough road of the highway.
WILLIAM: You will cease this now and do as you're told.
WILLIAM: Do you understand?
ELIZABETH: Fuck you.
Elizabeth struggles to get up, but Charlie rushes over to help her stand.
CHARLIE: Come on this is your mind, you can do this!
Charlie grabs Elizabeth’s shoulders grounding her for what she has to do.
ELIZABETH: You're right!
ELIZABETH: I’m done with you, you are not my father, you are not my family!
ELIZABETH: My family is here, and unlike you she actually loves me no matter who I am!
Elizabeth pulls Charlie into a kiss, their bodies lit up with each’s respective color, a glowing aura around them. When they part their bracelets float off their wrists and twist together into a sword of pink and green. Elizabeth grabs the sword as it floats in front of them, Charlie grabbing on as well, their hands overlapping as they grip tight.
ELIZABETH: Get out of my head!
CHARLIE: You’re fucked!
Elizabeth and Charlie rush in, the blade cutting through him like butter. His body began to lose shape again, falling into inky goo as he stumbled away.
WILLIAM: Elizabeth, stop!
WILLIAM: I am your father!
WILLIAM: Listen to me!
ELIZABETH: I am done listening to you!
ELIZABETH: Leave us alone!
Elizabeth slashes William across the chest, slicing him right into two. He falls to the ground, body dissolving into a puddle on the road.
WILLIAM: You fucking dyke, I should have of killed you.
ELIZABETH: Shut! The! Fuck! Up!
Elizabeth stomps on him, crushing him into nothing more than a stain on the road, as she pants heavily. Charlie pulls her into a hug, squeezing as tight as she can.
CHARLIE: We’re free Liz, we’re finally free.
Elizabeth closes her eyes as she leans into Charlie, squeezing her back. The world begins to fade, feeling leaving her body as it all goes black.
Opening her eyes Elizabeth finds herself back in reality. She pushes William off of her, slamming him into the wall of the basement as she rushes over to pick up the dropped crowbar. William regains consciousness and tries to get up, but he begins coughing as he falls back down onto the cold concrete.
WILLIAM: Haha, you think this solves anything?
William barely manages to get out between coughs, black bile coming out of his mouth as he admits to drag himself over to Elizabeth.
WILLIAM: You will always be mine, always!
William grabs Elizabeth’s hand with all the strength left in his body.
ELIZABETH: I am not yours!
ELIZABETH: Go to hell you piece of shit!
Elizabeth slams the crowbar as hard as she can into his head, shattering the mask and his skull underneath. She collapses to the ground, panting. She takes in her father, limp on the ground and pieces of his head all over the floor around him. A sob works its way out of her as she loses control, crying harder than she ever has, her eyes and throat burning. Charlie reappears behind her, pulling her into a hug.
