“Rare? How long do I have to stand here?” Applejack was standing in the center of Rarity’s room, arms out, as Rarity was pinning sections of cloth around her.

“Shh, I must make sure everything aligns, darling,” Rarity responds, sitting in a half squat in front of her girlfriend, working on pinning the top of the dress hanging in pieces on Applejack. Her mouth was full of pinheads, yet she still managed to speak clear as a bell, which always amazed Applejack.

“Alright, sugarcube. I’ll trust you here.”

”You’re much more patient than Dashie was.”

Applejack snorted hearing that. “Yeah, that tracks. That gal has never been able to sit still.”

“Making her prom dress was a nightmare. Nothing was good enough! I know she isn’t particularly suited for dresses, but I didn’t have a pantsuit design that both satisfied her, and matched with Fluttershy’s dress.”

“Speakin’ of matching, are ours gonna match?” A light blush dusted Applejack’s cheeks after her question. She was still getting used to them being an item, and not just obliviously pining.

“Of course, darling! Mine will be quite a bit shinier, but yours will still be amazing! I will work my weapons and make you a fabulous dress, do not worry your pretty head about it.”

“Weapons, eh?” Applejack teased, holding back a giggle.

“They are quite sharp, darling. Do not underestimate a sewing needle.”

”I know. How many times have I bandaged up your fingers?”

“Simply too many to count.” Rarity finally stood up, all the pins in their place, keeping the dress pieces cinched where they need to be. “Everything is pinned. Now, I just need to take everything off, and sew it.”

“Want me to getcha some of that fancy tea while ya work?”

“That would be much appreciated, thank you.”
