“Hey, what the- Cassey, stop knockin’ me off the map!” April complained, glaring at the other girl, holding her controller tight.
“Get better at the game!” Cassandra shot back.
“Watch your back! Blue shell coming your way!” Sunita said to Cassandra, grinning widely as she launched the projectile.
“Wh- hey!” Cassandra tried her best to evade the shell, but there was no way she was getting a mushroom to speed past it while in 1st place. The blue shell hit her character, dropping her to a stop. April and Sunita’s characters quickly sped past, taking over her lead. Cassandra only managed to start moving again once enough bots had passed her for her to be in 8th place.
“Oh, I am so gonna win now!” April confidently declared, speeding past Sunita, taking turns as tight as she could manage to keep her lead.
“Once I get a blue shell it is over for you two!” Cassandra sassed back, trying her darndest to get said projectile from one of the mystery boxes.
“Good luck with that,” Sunita said, focusing on trying to get past April, or at the least, maintain her 2nd place status.
“Haha-”
“NO!” All three girls screamed, a lightning bolt stopping all of them and making them drop their items.
“I had just gotten a blue shell!” Cassandra practically grows, smashing the 2 button to try and get going again quicker.
“At this rate you aren’t gonna win; that’s for sure,” April shot back at her, trying valiantly to maintain her lead.
“Neither are you, though,” Sunita says with a grin, sniping April with a green shell. She speeds past the girl, and just barely makes it past the finish line in 1st place.
April gets 2nd.
And Cassandra gets 5th.
“Oh, come on!” Cassandra complains.
“It’s okay,” Sunita soothes, leaning onto the girl’s side. April joined in on the other side, smiling.
“Did you have fun though?”
“…yeah.” Cassandra begrudgingly admits, and the other two smile.
